Charitable Requests

If the request falls within the guidelines below, we encourage you or your organization to submit a letter outlining your request and how it meets one of the guidelines. Requests are reviewed and granted at the discretion of Continental Divide management and governing board of trustees. Note:  In order to be considered, charitable requests must be received 3 to 4 weeks prior to your event, fundraiser or need.

Charitable Request Guidelines

Charitable requests must be used to benefit a community or communities, that receive service from Continental Divide, in one or more of the following (4) ways:

  1. With Respect to Energy Efficiency and/or Renewable Energy – Requests for an organization’s project or activity that promotes the efficient use of energy, such as weatherization or toward the planning, development or building of a renewable energy source.
  2. With Respect to Education – Requests for an organization’s project or activity that benefits students in grades K-12 or students enrolled at an accredited New Mexico college or university within Continental Divide's service territory.
  3. With Respect to the Environment – Requests for an organization’s project or activity that benefits the environment.
  4. With Respect to Economic Development – Requests for an organization’s project or activity that promotes or creates economic development.
