Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association is a not-for-profit cooperative power supplier owned by 45 electric distribution cooperatives and public power districts. Tri-State generates and transports electricity to Continental Divide and other Tri-State members across nearly 200,000 square miles in Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico and Wyoming. Basin Electric Power Cooperative
Continental Divide is a Class C member of Basin Electric Power Cooperative, headquartered in Bismarck, N.D. That's because Tri-State purchases wholesale power from BEPC, making it a Class A Basin member. Basin Electric's core business is generating and transmitting wholesale bulk electric power to customers, primarily 131 electric systems in nine states. New Mexico Rural Electric Cooperatives
The New Mexico Rural Electric Cooperatives (NMREC) represents the interests of the state's electric cooperatives who are members of NMREC and their members through actively working with regulatory, political and governmental bodies and the general public. It also is a cooperative, directed by representatives of New Mexico's electric co-ops. NMREC's activities include legislative and regulatory representation, public affairs and training.
